Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS)
Introduction
All started in 1986 under the name GAIKINDO Cars Exhibition. Of course, this was supported by GAIKINDO where there were only 13 GAIKINDO members participating at that time. With an area of ??4,000 square meters, the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) is the venue for the first time this event was held. After changing its name to Jakarta Auto Expo in 1989, the exhibition has grown significantly. The growth in the number of participants was extraordinary even though it was postponed twice in 1992-1993 and 1997-1999 due to the tight monetary policy of the government at that time.
In 2000, Dyandra Promosindo was involved as a professional exhibition organizer handling the event which at that time had changed its name to Gaikindo Auto Expo. This made the auto show a great success which was attended by 115 related automotive companies. Entering 2006, Gaikindo Auto Expo started a new level of car exhibition which eventually became an international scale exhibition and in collaboration with OICA (International Organization of Constructeurs' AUTOMOBILES) which coordinates International Motorcycle Exhibitions around the world. Therefore, on 21-30 July 2006 the Gaikindo Auto Expo was changed to The 14th Indonesian International Motor Show.
The extraordinary breakthrough was made by IIMS at the 21st International Motor Show Indonesia which was held on 19-29 September 2013. The event covered an area of ??75,101 square meters which led IIMS to become an automotive exhibition larger than others in Asia Pacific, which resulted in a total transaction of more than 4.9 billion rupiah.
In 2015 and 2016, the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) was revived once again with the theme The Essence of Motor Show. Of course, there are many new things that are presented at JIExpo, Kemayoran Jakarta, including exhibitions of motorcycles, auto parts, the accessories industry, and other supporting programs. There are several programs including IIMS Movie Cars, IIMS Military Zone, IIMS Drift Wars, and many more.
Meanwhile in 2017, we made another major breakthrough by adding a thematic atmosphere that had never been held before, namely CarNival. CarNival itself has the meaning as a combined form of a motor show with the excitement of a carnival that is present not only for automotive fans but also for everyone.
In addition, a collaboration was made for the second time between IIMS and the International Grand Prix (GPI) as the Steering Organizer of the Bangkok International Motor Show (BIMS), which is one of the top five automotive events from around the world. This collaboration has transformed IIMS to a higher level in an automotive exhibition in Indonesia.
In 2021, Dyandra Promosindo adapts to the New Normal situation, namely by presenting a Hybrid event, which is a combination of online (virtual) exhibitions that can be accessed anywhere, as well as offline exhibitions by implementing health protocols. We present "The 28th Indonesia International Motor Show" with the theme Hybrid Automotive Experience.
