Hamburg International Conference of Logistics (HILC)
Introduction
The past two years’ events have emphasized the growing importance of resilience in logistics and supply chains, while the need to consider sustainability in the face of climate change continues to increase. Adequately incorporating these dimensions poses unique challenges for logistics and supply chain management and offers many opportunities for science and practice. The collection and analysis of data to predict potential disruptions in supply chains or the need to share information between supply chain partners to understand and mitigate possible negative effects that products and services might have on the environment are just two examples of what these new roles entail. Both science and practice have recognized that successfully addressing aspects such as supply chain risk management, digitalization, and sustainable supply chain management is vital for being and remaining competitive in this changing environment. HICL 2022 focuses on research concepts and ideas that reveal new opportunities and provide insights into the future of supply chain management and logistics.
