This focal topic is highly relevant for both research and industry. Research can outline the theoretical limits and detail how far current state-of-the-art industrial solutions are away from the best possible solutions. Industry can contribute with information on the most urgent market demands for better solutions. Thus, the focal topic is ideal for a dialogue between research and industry to initiate new projects for the development of novel powerful and at the same time cost-effective systems in areas where there is a corresponding market need. The aim is to foster interaction between the machine vision industry and academic research to learn from each other, discuss the newest research results as well as problems from applications, learn about emerging application fields, and to discuss research cooperation between industry and academic institutes. The overall aim is to accelerate innovation by translating new re?search results faster into practice. All talks will be recorded and participants will receive links to the recorded material in the form of interactive online applications without additional charge.
