Young Art Kaohsiung is an event aspired to break the barriers between great expositions and small one-artist solo shows, presenting a grand art fair comprised of artists’ solo exhibitions, an artistic flash mob fair. Young Art Kaohsiung differs from the other types of exposition made of commercial galleries, but comprises a group of artists who do not have commercial gallery representation. It relaxes the application restrictions and lowers the approval threshold, providing a platform of more creative freedom for artists to make their works of art.

KAOHSIUNG AWARD, established by Bureau of Cultural Affairs, Kaohsiung City Government, aims to identify new blood and groom up-and-coming young artists. Meanwhile, it has also organized ART KAOHSIUNG, an art fair consisting of commercial galleries for participation since 2013. With a view to re-establish the cultural and arts market in Kaohsiung, it not only nurtures budding art practitioners, but ensures a more vibrant and diverse sales platform. Therefore, Young Art Kaohsiung, apart from ART KAOHSIUNG, is held to provide a stage for emerging artists to, in a more liberal and open way, present themselves, in order to facilitate the development of arts market in South of Taiwan.
